Vic and you sit at a nearby table to talk. The group of noticers around the cafe are staring at you both. You mention to Vic how disturbing it is and Vic says to just ignore them. Soon after this, they seem to have lost interest and you start wondering if Vic just deals with this kind of thing all the time.

With less distraction, Vic and you are able to have very deep conversation and the world around you seems to melt away. You are learning more about Vic, things you didn't know before. They have a deep interest in anime just like you and seem to have a lot of common favourites with you. They are a diehard Dragonball fan and you are shocked that you didn't know this about them before. You both get carried away and before long, the staff at the cafe are pottering around impatiently cleaning things from the table before Vic suggests you leave together.

Vic offers you their phone number and you arrange a Dragonball marathon night.

You didn't want to just believe blindly that inviting someone over to binge TV always meant the obvious. But you guess that's another in the win column for that theory. Ever since the Dragonball marathon, that became a marathon for something else, your romance has really taken off at a crazy pace. It's becoming a rarity that you are not spending nights together. Life is good.

You face some challenges firstly, that it is very difficult to explain to your long time friends about how long you've known Vic, that while you don't remember Vic meeting your other friends but they tell you it's weird that such a special person has been in your life for that long and you've not really spoken about them and now you seem to be rethinking the rest of your life. After some of these conversations, you consider that it must just be something you weren't willing to discuss due to your fear of it not going the way you wanted. The way you needed, in fact.

One day when you go to Vic's place, you seem to feel uneasy walking there but you can't deduce what it is giving you that feeling. You are grabbed from behind and taken to the ground in a choke hold. It wasn't smooth but there was not much you could have done about it, your vision clouds and you pass out.

As you groggily awaken, your eyes open to see your arms, legs and body fastened to a chair that you are sitting in. You seem to be alone.

You have no idea where you are but within a few minutes you hear someone raise their voice. "You don't understand! They don't deserve you!". This is met with silence. You struggle to look around and see the masked assailant backing into the room followed by Vic. Vic has a raised hand, "I choose as I will." You watch as the masked assailant is blasted to powder by some incredible force that must be Vic. A dusty, person shaped outline on the wall is all that's left. Vic's hand slowly lowers from it's raised position.

The bonds on the chair loosen and fall apart. "Let's go." is all Vic says. Vic takes you home in their car. You feel extremely tired.

"Who was that? And what did you do to them?" you ask. "It's not important." Vic answers.

"What is important?" you follow up, not wanting to let it go. "We are. You and me. That's it." Vic responds.

What do you do?
